Another $2 Tuesday well spent, this time at the Thanksgiving Point dinosaur museum.

Mine! Mine! Mine!

At the dinosaur museum yesterday, Leah decided to use a line from the book when a bigger kid tried to take her toy dinosaur away; "Mine! Mine! Mine! Let GO!"
... great...
This book is going back to the library today.
Family Pictures
We had our family pictures taken last year from this guy, who I thought did a very nice and professional job. He was supposed to be moving, but I was excited to find out that he is still in town doing business. Check out his website!

$2 Tuesdays
Thanksgiving Point is offering $2 Tuesdays in August, and I've been itching to go to the gardens all summer. It was worth the wait- the weather was perfect and the company was wonderful! We could have spent the whole day there looking and stuff like this.

This was Leah's favorite part, by far. The children's garden has a huge ark fountain that kids can play in, complete with giraffes, lions, and rhinos. She is obsessed with Noah's ark right now, and what kid doesn't love splashing in water on a hot day?

Toddler Talk
I've realized that Leah has a lot of phrases that make perfect sense to me, but mean nothing to anyone else...
*mallow-nack (marshmallow snack)
*rowly-roly (ravioli)
*secret-shhh (seahorse, thanks to a recent library book called Secret Seahorse)
*star-face (any star, but mainly a toy that sits on her highchair whom we have named Mr. Star Face)
.
She also has no social filter, and lately I've been embarrassed more than once as she's pointed to the next person in line or someone walking past us and she yells out, "What's this?"....We're working on whispering...

Hogle Zoo 2008
Understandably, Leah had little interest in the camera.
The learning face really set in once we got on the train.

The Singles Ward
Jason was recently called to be in the bishopric of a singles ward. Anyone who is in or has been in our ward (or any ward, for that matter) knows that this isn't exactly a desirable calling.
I'm mean, wait a minute! Weren't we just in the singles ward? Now we're Brother and Sister Morales? The stake presidency has referred to us as an example to "these young adults"... temple marriage, happy relationship, cute little baby... no pressure!
This is definitely a change of pace from what we're used to, but given the flyer from the first group FHE we went to last night, I think these 'youngins' might get us afterall.

Down The Drain
Leah has shown an interest over the last few months in what goes on in the bathroom.
Today, while I was in there, she started saying "Bathroom, Mommy! Toilet!" I gave her a chance to sit on the toilet, which is huge compared to her little self, to no avail. Just as I expected. Then, as soon as I put her diaper back on, she pooped!
I decided it was time to get a potty.
So we made a trip to the store, picked out the perfect one, and headed home with no expectations of using it for it's intended purpose for at least another 6 months.
But after a little while of this

we got a little bit of this!
I'm just so proud!

Still no expectations of actually potty training any time soon, but it's a start! At least Leah has somewhere to sit now without the fear of falling in!
