Disney has it's own private island- Castaway Cay- that we had the pleasure of visiting twice on our cruise. The boat sailed from island to island at night, then in the morning we woke up to the sounds of reggae music the feeling of stillness (thankfully our family didn't have any problems with sea sickness), and the view of paradise out our veranda.
We spent two glorious days in our bathing suits- playing in the sand, relaxing in the shade, swimming in the ocean.
In addition to our parasailing adventure, Jason and I had signed up to go snorkeling. Thanks to my sweet family, we were able to go together- nothing like a date in paradise! Once we got our gear figured out, it was so fun swimming together, checking out fish and diving down in the water.
Castaway Cay has become my happy place.
Adam loved playing in the shade- he was not fond of the water, but somehow I talked him into going down Pelican Plunge with me-
Really, he did not like being in the water. The sandy beach was enough for him, and the Spring-A-Leak splash pad was a total hit.
Leah, on the other hand, spent most of her time in the ocean with her cousins. She has gotten really confident about swimming this year, and she had so much fun in the water.
We had hoped there was a way we could take her snorkeling with her limited swimming skills. With a life vest and a piggy-back swim out, she and Jason had a great time checking out fish, taking pictures with our new underwater camera, and collecting seashells.
This little island truly was amazing. Relax, relax, relax is what is was all about. I think Emma sums it up best for all of us when she says-
This. Is. Paradise.
