Girls Trip in SLC!

The stars aligned and I was in Utah for Allison's birthday this year!  That, of course, meant a girls trip which started with a perfect airport pick up-
rage release-
the Grand America- such a fancy hotel!
with fancy hallways-
and a fancy balcony!
 Our dinner restaurant was pink!
Fancy trees!
And amazing hotel decorations-
A perfect birthday cake!
We got up for the sunrise!
Which apparently is different than the suncrest.  But the views were still amazing and I loved waking up with my baby sister on her birthday!
A fancy breakfast-
Then off to the day spa and overall it was just the perfect way to celebrate Allison, sisterhood and all things girly!

Starting Summer at Home!

We kicked off Tour de Stake 3.0 in Oskaloosa!  We'll see how long it takes us to visit all 9 units in our stake this time around.  We came home from our visit with the most beautiful fresh eggs.
Adam has been enjoying the awkward stories of Wallace Whipple- a flashback to my childhood!
It's refreshing to read about the cringy tales of adolescence from someone else's point of view!
Adam and Noah have been mastering magic tricks this summer.
We went to a magic show at the library and they were by far the oldest kids there, but they were rewarded for talking to the magician after the show with their very own magic wands!
We have the best missionaries!
The girls and I went to see the new Little Mermaid, and it exceeded our expectations!
Lots of happy evenings in the yard.
The blueberries are almost ready to eat!
One clear night we found Saturn, Mars, and had an incredible view of the surface of the moon!
I love the days when the creativity is flowing- Adam made his own cardboard rocket,
and the girls worked on art projects
while Noah and I made strawberry jam!  It's jam season!
Adam spent a good afternoon creating watermelon bowls to share with the young men.
This is a common scene in our house- someone peering at something out the window with Laney on high alert nearby.
This time it was two greedy and plump raccoons trying to get as many mulberries as they possibly could.
Lots of lazy days in the sunroom.
A delightful surprise from Auntie Al's trip to Amsterdam!
And a good bike ride with my biking buddy!

Boys Campout & Girls Night

Adam, Jason, and Noah headed out for another attempt at camping, and this time it was a success!  They do look a little worried about the plethora of gnats that were swarming the camp, but they said the trip was an overall success.
And they weren't alone!
Plenty of time for exploring the woods,
traversing bridges, and swinging on the tire swing.

(And let's all be grateful for a quick moment that Jason isn't the sole picture-taker/memory-keeper for our family.  That's quite an action shot!)

They said good night to us-
and we said good night to them from the comfort of my bed at home, where the girls were snuggled up and enjoying a late night movie and plenty of giggles.
And then we all slept!
Ah! There is nothing quite like a good night's sleep in the great outdoors!
