College Decisions for Leah!

After weeks of application writing and months of waiting and years of working so, so hard, Leah received the incredibly exciting news in February that she was accepted to BYU!
This was the email we had all been waiting and hoping and praying for!
Oh, the shouts and tears of joy that we all shared when she read the news!  We all decked out in our BYU gear and headed to brunch to celebrate!
She had so much fun telling grandparents, aunties, and her best friend Sarah!
This sweet girl has worked so hard on her academics, community service, spirituality, and developing relationships with her teachers and church leaders. It has taken a village to get her this far!
She'll be going to BYU in the fall, living in Heritage Halls on campus, and has started discovering the joy of the course catalogue. We are SO excited for Leah and all that the future holds for her as a B-Y-U COUGAR!!!!

Application (Check!)

A massive chunk of Leah's (and my) fall brain space was dedicated to completing and submitting Leah's application to BUY (and BYU-Idaho). We cheered VERY loudly when she pressed submit.  Now we wait and continue to learn what it means to have faith in the future.  We've learned a lot about the whole getting ready for college process- and it's definitely a process!  Leah has a fantastic Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C for the year after she graduates, and we are excited to see which path she ends up taking!

Utah- Days Four & Five

In between all of the big events of the trip, the kids found plenty of ways to entertain themselves.  They love Grandma's house and dress ups and books and games and yard and crafts and treasures. It's a magical and happy place!
While Daddy and I were in the temple for the sealing, Grandpa took the big kids to do baptisms and Grandma took Noah out for a few treats!
One-on-one time in Utah with Grandma was so special!  Also, check out that height difference!
What is this pose?  And what were they talking about so seriously??
It was a beautiful day, and so sweet to have Grandma and Grandpa there to help us fully enjoy our time at the temple.
The sealing ceremony was beautiful and sweet and such a happy experience. These two have a happy future ahead!
Once pictures were wrapped up, we headed back to Grandma's house to pack up the car and get ready to start our slow exit out of Utah. We said our Morales good-byes at the Olive Garden- look at these cute newlyweds!
I definitely didn't get enough pictures of all of the family we got to share this weekend with, but it was really such a sweet time to be with almost everyone on both sides of our families.
We scheduled a BYU campus tour for Leah the afternoon of the sealing. It was so! much! fun!  Leah showed up like a boss and I loved the walk (ride) down memory lane.
Jason and I have years and years of happy memories on the BYU campus, and I love that our little family has a handful of our own happy memories there too!
We invited all of the DSM stake youth that are living in Utah County to join us for dinner at J Dawgs! It was so sweet catching up with so many of them and hearing all about the exciting things happening in their lives.
The kids were soaking up every minute of time with Sarah, and I really paused when the five of them walked from JDawgs up to Sarah's dorm. There were so many years when getting around BYU campus required strollers and hand holding and careful intersection crossing with our babies.
How quickly time changes, and Jason and I found ourselves alone and wandering around the Creamery, waiting for the kids to join us. That felt like a solid glimpse into our future.
We were in no hurry to get in the car, but eventually we said goodbye to Sarah and to all of Utah and made our way over to Wyoming, where our hotel was waiting for us. Noah had one epic nap on the way there.
And the next morning we were back in the car, heading east, stressed about the tests and assigments calling to us, but grateful for the pup that was waiting for us back at home, and even more grateful for the time we got to spend in Utah with so many of our favorite family and friends this year!
