Where We Live, (Nearly) Fall Time!

Where we live, it rained the most rain it has rained in 112 years in September. And we loved it! Rain is wonderful!
Some walks just have to happen in the rain.
Hello postcard.
I spy downtown DSM!
These fall-ish colors are incredible!
I'm trying to follow Leah's example and spot more bugs!
Even the cornfields that I hate to see dry are mesmerizing this year.
Laney thinks so too.
Hello, romanticism painting view out our front door!
If you squint, downtown is basically NYC.
Just a regular misty morn-
I've said it before and I'll say it again- the sunroom shines the brightest this time of year!

August Life

August might be back to school time, but it's also still summertime and we made sure to enjoy it! This high school freshman is on the daunting side of 100 hours of community service for Silver Cord, and she earned a few good ones at the World Food and Music Festival! We definitely brought a vibe to the merch tent.
We sang and danced and ate for hours! People actually stopped by to tell us how much they loved our energy. And then buy some mini maracas.
I love when these Lego pics appear on my camera roll.
Noah's OG Jeff Bassos was ready for an upgrade!
Meet Jeff Bassos 2.0.
I have a testimony of naptime!
Just chillin' downtown.
Lucky Emma and I got to see Wicked!

Wrapping Up Summer

As we zoomed into August, everyone suddenly got so busy that we forgot it was still summer!
But we tried to sneak in fun whenever we could, and let's not forget that show choir summer camps, orchestra camps, marching band camps are all really fun! We have a blessed and happy life!
Thug and a bug!
Marching band parent preview-
Nailed it!
Some days were slower than others.
Laney hates when the luggage comes out.
Don't leave me!!
We call this the 'drag tax'- when the calendar is full and the siblings are unavailalbe all day and there are errands to be run, Noah gets Zombie Burger!
We love letters!
Summer days were HOT!
We even made it to Cascade Falls in Ankeny! Noah hurt his arm the night before this- a pretty painful shoulder strain that required a sling for a week! What a way to end the summer.
Ahh, summer, we will miss you!
