In October, we helped Adam be the kind of boyfriend every girl wants - one that bears chocolate and love notes! I hope that somewhere out there are two good families that are teaching their boys how to someday treat my girls right.
Sweet Noah, my artist, snuggle buddy for Laney, and funny boy. I am not wishing away these last days of elementary school simplicity and sweetness.
More music all around!
I didn't buy school pictures this year. I feel like I broke a major rule of life.
About 10 years ago, when I had a houseful of babies (only a few of whom were in school yet) and I was the Relief Society president in my ward, I called one of my counselors on a busy Tuesday afternoon and asked her to help me get something done. Her response, that she was getting into the bathtub, absolutely floored me. She said one day I would find myself in the same stage of life, and love it. She was not wrong. (But oh, I would go back to those busy baby days for an hour or two if I could!)
This little genius brought Marshmallow back to life again while the father was out of town.
A classic mark of fatherhood-
I genuinely wish I could take Laney with me most everywhere I go.
Our beloved Bangsy from Jordan Creek disappeared this year, and I have a sneaky suspicion this beady-eyed guy might have something to do with it.
I love seeing signs of my kids in school.
Tuesday nights downtown are always an adventure in the city.
Halloween traditions were scheduled in here and there and wherever we could get them done this year. It amazes to me to see how much life changes with teenagers- things that used to be the absolute highlight of the season, while still special, are not nearly as easy to accomplish as they once were. It makes me so grateful for the happy memories we have made for years, and for the chances to create new memories now!
Emma went out with her friends,
and Adam had play practice. Jason and I were at a loss for what to do with ourselves that evening. But like most open blocks of time that we find ourselves with, the time passed quickly, and the kids were back at home and swapping and sorting candy in no time! These changing seasons of life are always keeping us on our toes!
