A Sunny Day

Life post-graduate school hasn't been much different than it was before.  Jason is still on his computer at nights and working at least half the day every Saturday.  It is planting season, which means he's extra busy right now, but it does make for an extra special treat when he gets to join us in our activities.
We took advantage of the beautiful weather last weekend and headed down to Des Moines to do some exploring.
It was a good thing we enjoyed the weather while we could- the last two days we have accumulated about 2 inches of snow and slush.  Crazy weather for May.  But last weekend was beautiful.
Des Moines is a charming little city with just enough urban feel to help us forget that we are in the middle of the Midwest.  We had a lot of fun checking out the sculpture park downtown.
It was big enough that we spent a few hours there, enjoyed a picnic lunch and thoroughly examined each and every sculpture (none of which we were allowed to touch, sadly).  Adam especially had a great time critiquing each piece of art and wanted to know as much as the little brochure would tell us about each one.  His self-declared favorites were "Back of a Snowman", black and white.
