Our trip to Yellowstone

We went to Yellowstone/Jackson Hole/Grand Teton National Park this past weekend. The weather was great and the scenery was beautiful. We didn't see much wildlife- lots of buffalo, a few deer and a beautiful elk with huge antlers. Despite long hours in the car, sunburns and too much fast food, we all had a lot of fun.

The Falls at Yellowstone.

Old Faithful (Leah was more interested in the geyser than the camera!)

This is Jackson Lake with the Tetons in the background.

We took a boat ride around Jenny Lake. It was cold in the shadow of the Tetons, so Leah and I shared Jason's sweatshirt.

Resting on one of our many hikes.

What's with the tongue?!?!

We've taken some great pictures of our latest adventures with Leah, and they all have one thing in common- the tongue! It's always sticking out- I'm hoping it's because she just cut her first tooth (end of teething-induced sleepless nights? Let's hope so!) and likes to feel the tooth, but if not, I'm afraid the tongue is here to stay! I did add one nice picture at the end that doesn't have it.

Adventures in Family FHE...

Helping Mom with the laundry...

Visiting DW at the library...
On a walk with Dad...
On a family picnic up Provo Canyon... Leah has a great smile when the tongue isn't in the way!

Leaps and Bounds

Leah has grown so much in the last few weeks- she has started eating solids- sweet potatoes are her favorite (as you can see here) and she sits up like a pro. Heather (Melanie's sister) mentioned that Leah is cuter now than ever, and I think she's right- she is so full of personality, laughs and smiles a lot, and has the chubbiest little cheeks. Quite a change from the little larva that she was six months ago!

Watching fireworks on the Fourth with Dad!
Hanging out with Mom in the yard...
We took a "Girls Trip" to St. George- here are Sarah, Leah and Allison in a giant rocking chair somewhere in the middle of Utah!

Summertime...

We're having a great summer! Here are a few of the latest adventures.

Horray! Jason graduated from BYU. He'll be back to school in the fall for his Master's degree.

Girly time with Mom...
A trip to Colorado for Grandma Morales's graduation...

Trips to the pool...

A ride around the lake in Grandpa's canoe...
Sitting up and starting solids are right around the corner, so I'll try my hardest to post again soon!

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter celebration. Leah wasn't very interested in the Easter Bunny, but had a great time chewing on her dress!
Jason's sisters Sarah and Emily visited from Denver last week, and Leah loved all of the attention she got!
And here are a few everyday pictures.

Leah looks so cute in her new hat!

Ready to roll over? Not yet, I hope!

Three Months!

Time is going by so quickly! Here are a few of the latest pictures of our family.

This is a bathtime shot- she looked so cute with the little towel hood on, but couldn't figure out why I was taking her picture instead of getting her dressed!

Leah is getting very good at sitting up against a pillow or chair, and loves to eat her hands!
A true Henscheid- talking on the phone with Grandma!
The first weekend in March, we had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Great. Leah seemed to enjoy their time together- especially with Grandma!

As promised, here's Melanie's side of the family at Leah's blessing- of course, we're missing Uncle Jared (I mean, Elder Henscheid) and Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kirsten.

Two Months Old!!

Can you believe it's been two months! As you can see from the pictures, Leah has been pretty busy. A couple of weeks ago Leah had her one month pictures taken. It was more like her six week pictures because we had to re-schedule with the photographer a couple of times. Here are some of the proofs.

Leah also got her first look at a ski resort a couple of weeks ago when the family went up to Wolf Creek. Here Leah is relaxing with mom and dad during a break.

Leah was also blessed on February 4th. She looked adorable in her blessing dress and behaved like an angel. It was great having the whole family together. Here are pictures of the Morales side of the family. We will post pictures of the Henscheid side when we get them.

Lastly, here are a couple of pictures of Leah taking a bath and lounging around the house.

Leah has grown a lot since we first brought her home. Now she is holding things and smiling voluntarily (most of the time, sometimes she's still making dad a treat). She also has her two month appointment this week so we'll have plenty to write about next time.
