Isn't this the truth for all of us, especially in the wintertime??
We have a pretty standard routine around here, from wake up time to out the door time, cleaning up the house then exercising, getting off to preschool then finally getting myself ready for the day.
Then it's play time or errand time with my little buddy, preschool is over and then lunch and stories and naps and then I usually get about an hour of alone time (in which I usually blog) before the little kids wake up, the big kids get home, and we commence the afternoon crazy and calm of homework, music practice, playing, and the various evening to-do's before we reconvene for dinner, dishes, and preparing for the next day.
The bedtime routine topped off with scriptures, prayers, and nighttime snuggles and back scratches, right down to Noah always asking for another drink and Emma always requesting that we turn the bathroom light back on, it's a very predictable routine.
And a very good one- the words that Jason says when he kisses me good-bye in the morning, the way the kids chatter over breakfast every morning, the conversations we have around the dinner every night, it's all quite routine and quite predictable.
And when it seems like it's never going to change, I'm reminded that it's the gift of an ordinary day- constantly changing without us even realizing it.
