Where we live we walk on the ice in the wintertime. Except when the days are too packed and the sunlight is too short and the winter is too warm to keep the ice around for long. Then we just pack up a picnic and a bat and a ball and a pup and spend the day basking in the beauty of our pocket of the Earth.
While the girls tried to catch fish with a rock tied to a piece of fishing line, the boys went scootering around the loop.
Best line of the baseball game came from Emma after she tumbled into a leaf-filled hole in the ground when rounding onto third base- "curse these frikin' weak ankles!".
A quick picture with my big girl- I'm hugging her a little tighter these days because boy does being a junior in high school make it very apparent that the days together as we've always known them are rather quickly coming to a close. I'm going to be a hot mess next year for sure.
Same lake- different day, but how can we not love where we live when it looks like this!
