September Highlights and Lowlights

On the downside, our fridge died not long after we came back from Utah.  On the upside, our new fridge makes 4 kinds of ice, including ice balls!  Apparently there is nothing so exciting or hilarious as the regular opportunity to say balls in the kitchen. Not pictured would be the absolutely Herculean effort it took to get the old fridge out of the house and the new fridge put in.  Thank you strong Daddy and Adam, great helper Noah, and thank you YouTube man who taught us how to get a fridge off of a pickup truck!
I'm grateful to have four babies who love school and take advantage of all it has to offer, including all kinds of music!  Adam is trying out several new music groups this year, including Southwood Singers (vocals), show band (piano), marching band (trumpet), and jazz choir, on top of the show choir, regular choir, concert band and jazz band that he was already involved in. My motto with Adam this year is, "You can do it, we can help" and I'm already realizing how little I will see him next year when he is driving himself to all the places before, during and after school. Noah's taken up the trombone this year, much to the delight of Grandpa Mark. He's also in chorus, orchestra, and the Des Moines Youth Symphony!
Noah's participation in the DSMYS gives us monthly tickets to the symphony!
We celebrated our beloved prophet Russell M. Nelson's 100th birthday with the whole stake!
Emma and I helped Leah with her senior photo shoot!
And we had a little family photo shoot too, I'll post those pictures separately.
That was a very exhausting day!
I spent one morning as the secretary at the elementary school!  That was a fun day.
One chaotic afternoon Emma, Noah, and Laney and I took a quick, hot, and buggy through Browns Woods.
Just checking.
Noah and his best bud Samskara!
Laney's greatest wish would be to hop into the kids' backpacks and join them on that big yellow bus for an adventure at school!
She happily takes the snuggles at home too.
Emma talked me into buying a Venus flytrap and it provided us hours of entertainment!
