A Treehouse!

Hip hip hurray!  The treehouse is (nearly) done!
We (Jason) just need to adjust that tire and add the zipline (which we already have but have decided to wait until spring to install) and the treehouse will officially be finished!
And it's 99.5% thanks to this guy working lots of long hours on the project.
He is proud of it and while it has been a great project to work on, I know he's glad it's done!
And we're all having fun with it! It's the perfect place to picnic during our lunch breaks and it's only going to get more fun once the zip line is installed in the spring.
Good grief look at that puppy baby.  She is ridiculous.  She always wants to be in the treehouse with us but recognizes the danger and leaps up into my arms as soon as she gets up there.  Also, crazy eyed Noah!!
This is the view from the treehouse into the woods.  The land slopes right at the base of the treehouse so it has a bit of a mullet effect- tame in the front, wild in the back.
We originally planned on adding walls and a roof, but the views into the woods are the best part!
There is always something interesting to spot out there.
Like Peter the Opossum, who is really a raccoon that we hope is just hibernating.
And his wife Polly, who could have cared less that we were this close to her, and the many, many deer that wander through the yard each day.  We are just sure some of them are reindeer, and maybe one of these days we will be quiet enough in the treehouse to catch or ride on one of them! :)
Dangling feet are the cutest part of the treehouse!
When we first started looking at this house the list quickly grew long of all the things inside the house that we would like to change to make it ours.
But the very top of the list has always been "build a treehouse". It's the first project we've tackled here and we are excited to make many happy memories out here in the years to come!
