Everyone got a good night's sleep in the hotel, including our snuggly friends!
Although Adam did tell me that he would greatly prefer to not be assigned the pullout couch bed next time around. I guess he's getting old enough to tell the difference.
First thing next morning- swimming!
It was a good thing we had the pool to ourselves because it was just the right size for four noisy, splashy, excited kids.
And it was a perfect way to burn a few hours while I got groceries with the aunties. Then we headed up to Whitefish to ride an alpine slide before we could check into our house.
It was a bit rainy which caused a bit more of a delay than we would have liked, but eventually we all made it up- and down the mountain!
We got plenty of use out of our new rain jackets on this trip.
And it was just so beautiful! Blue skies and fluffy white clouds and evergreens covering every inch of the mountains. How we miss the mountains!
Finally our turn!
Noah and I went together at a nice safe speed.

We quickly headed back up the mountain for our second run, but.... the rain started again and we decided we didn't want to wait around for it to dry up.
So back down the mountain we went, to check out our house (which was conveniently located just a few streets away).
And the house was awesome! Great location, plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and almost enough beds... our family of six is just a lot to bunk up when you've got a group of 16.
We were upstairs in the master bedroom and loft area, which was perfect for looking out on all that was happening below.
All of the kids wanted to sleep in the bed by the window, and they all got a turn. Unfortunately there was one more body than bed for our family, so we had to rotate who got the best view, the spot with Mom and Dad and the couch/floor/couch bed with a cousin. I learned on this trip that we have outgrown two things- shared sleeping spaces and shared meals. Everyone is growing up!

So he found a way to get to it!
We only let the big kids scramble across the roof to check it out.
There were little trails all around the house for exploring, and hopefully not running into any animals.
It was so fun watching our kids be the 'big cousins' throughout the whole trip.
Victory! We all made it back home again.
And just like that our first day was done!
