As always, life, and the blog, must carry on despite the vacation posts that have yet to be published!
Noah came home from school last week nearly in tears.
"We didn't do anything to celebrate the 100th day of school today. All of the other classrooms at least had banners and we had nothing. And my teacher said the groundhog died yesterday so we didn't even celebrate Groundhog Day at school."
Well. That is a hard day indeed.
(And side story, Noah also said Groundhog Day wasn't even a real holiday, just "one of those funky holidays like Valentines Day or St. Patrick's Day. There are only four real holidays- Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Halloween." We shall refer to all other holidays as funky holidays from here on out.)
So we turned things around, first with a pup snuggle-
the next morning with a traditional 100th day of school breakfast (aka- make the number 100 out of whatever's on your breakfast plate)-
Adam ate most of his before I could take a picture- this growing boy has taken to waking up early lately to make sure that he gets "plenty of time to eat a lot of food" before school-
And sweet Leah spends her mornings at seminary, which means she eats her breakfast in the car, which means she rarely gets to do any of the fun morning things anymore.
But that night was fun for everyone with a tasty trip back to Hogsmeade! Wands and robes came out for our dinner of fish and chips with pumpkin pasties (of some sort) and hot butterbeer and lemon drops for dessert!
Spot the pup- ha!
Nope, the butterbeer wasn't even close to being as delicious as what we enjoyed at Harry Potter World.
Oh well, we'll keep trying.
Daddy and I also took the quiz to get sorted into our Hogwarts Houses- Ravenclaw for me and Gryffindor for him means we are a house evenly divided by gender! And then we all snuggled up in the basement to watch the next Harry Potter movie- we're on number 5 and we all really liked it!
I'd say we turned the day around indeed!
