Once we were warmed up and bundled up, we headed back over to Magic Kingdom for fireworks and a few more hours of fun! Which meant more filters while we rode on the bus.
We spent the first bit of time shopping- Noah had his heart set on RC from Toy Story, so we fought the packed crowds of the Main Street shops, admiring all of the fun souvenirs that we didn't want to take home as we went.
Gorgeous book!
A little bit of Encanto!
The kids played with RC while we waited for the fireworks to start- we actually got a really good spot for as late as we arrived.
And we snuggled up close together while the show went on. We were all much happier with more layers on! Magic Kingdom puts on the same show every night, but it seemed completely different with the heavy cloud coverage blocking the view of the big aerial fireworks and highlighting the lasers down by the castle instead.
Noah watched while perched on my back. Good thing the show is only 15 minutes long...
Such a beautiful show. I didn't cry much this time but I definitely felt the sadness coming on- we had had an amazing week and it was coming to an end!But thanks to our mid-day rest at the resort, we weren't ready to call it a night just yet! Instead we headed back to some of our favorite rides of the park- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the dark was awesome!
Adam has a very distinct memory of sticking his finger in this hole last time (when he was 7) so we captured a picture of it. I don't think his growing man fingers fit in it this time.
Here we go again!!
This might be one of my favorite pictures of the trip. Just some sweet siblings strolling along.
Of course we had to stop by Tangled toilets for one more spin. This spot is just as exciting as some of the rides!
Daddy, Noah and I were the spectators while Leah, Emma, and Adam (at his sisters' insistence) were the dancers.
They were moving too fast for good pictures.
We also hopped on Peter Pan's flight (one of my favorite rides, I don't care how old you are, flying over London is magical) and Daddy and I rode together. He humored me by acting completely enchanted by everything we passed over.
And it looks like we took exactly one picture of what was probably the most exciting part of the evening- we rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine train again! And again! And again!! The line was short enough that we got to go on it three more times and it was SO FUN! Definitely everyone's favorite ride of the park.
We were getting pretty silly with the ride pictures towards the end...
Once we got our fill of rides we stopped by the Hall of Princesses.
We chatted with Rapunzel,
Tiana,
Cinderella,
and Elena of Avalor (who, to be honest, I had to Google because I couldn't quite remember her name. We're not exactly her biggest fans anymore but boy we once were)!
They all had plenty to say to the both the boys and the girls, and again, while the magic wasn't nearly the same as it was when the babies were all smaller, it was still fun to see their beautiful dresses and hear them chat about royal life. We saw Princess Minnie too!
Then we went back through the castle one more time. These mosaics are made with tiny tiles and they are all incredible.
The Magic Kingdom seems especially magical at night.
Of course we have no idea which childhood memories will stick and shape our kids, but I sure am glad that we've added these happy days at Disney to the list!
One more castle picture!
Once we made our way back down Main street, we posed for a picture on these benches mostly because we wanted to sit down for a minute.
Someone asked who the guy was- it was Walt Disney, of course, but we decided his name was Fred Shmenkenmyer and there was a statue of him because he was the first visitor at Disney World.
