We hedged our bets about which park we would most like to visit one more time on our last day in Florida. Harry Potter World was a strong contender, but the logistics of getting ourselves and our luggage to and from a non-Disney park after we'd checked out from our room combined with the staggering difference in price between a second day at HP World ($1,050) compared to a sixth day at a Disney Park ($68. Total. Not per person.) made a second day at Hollywood Studios a relatively easy choice. It has two of the very best rides that we definitely wanted to ride one more time.
Our flight plans made our day a little less flexible, and there was just no way we would stand in line for two hours again, no matter how incredible the ride was, but luckily we snagged tickets for Rise of the Resistance for right around the time we were planning to arrive after our breakfast at Chef Mickey's.
So off to Hollywood Studios we went, enjoying a bit of Disney magic en route- we hopped right onto the HS bus at the Contemporary- we didn't have to wait even one minute in the cold!
Did I mention it was cold!?
We headed straight to Rise of the Resistance, fast pass tickets in hand. I realized the second time through how nervous I was about the ride the first time around. It was nice to relax a bit this time and enjoy the story build up without worrying quite as much about what was coming next. (Adam told me I literally shrieked when we saw Kylo Ren's light saber come through the ceiling the first time. He was not wrong.)
We made it through the beginning part of the ride and right up to dramatic appearance of the stormtroopers when the super strict Imperial officer approached the door and said, "I know this isn't want you want to hear, but the ride was down for maintenance."
Whomp, whomp, whomp. We were so close! But we had to get tickets to return to the ride later in the day, crossing our fingers that it would work out that we could actually complete the ride before we had to leave for the airport. It was a little stressful and a lot disappointing, but everything worked out great and we actually ended up experiencing the ride two and a half times with only one horribly long wait! Totally worth it!
Those stormtroopers were so menacing!
Cute boys with cute puppets!
And cute little porgs.
We headed over to ride Star Tours next (I just closed my eyes for 85% of it, thank you very much).
I think it was at this souvenir shop that Noah spied the remote control BB8, which he was absolutely positive was a much cooler than the Toy Story RC he picked out the day before. Not unlike our last trip to Disney, the kids didn't have a horrible case of the gimmies and they were going home with only a few nice souvenirs each. Still, Noah was out of money, but then Daddy decided that he wanted BB8 for his souvenir of the trip, and these three boys had a blast playing with it whenever they could the rest of the day. (Turns out BB8 is a lot harder to control, so Noah made a good choice with RC and everyone is still having fun with both!).
This time we knew exactly what to expect on this super fun ride!
Such a fun journey with Mickey and Minnie
and Goofy!
What an adventure!
Somewhere in here we all rode Aerosmith's Rockin' Roller Coaster again. This was definitely the most intense roller coaster of the day!
Time for more filters!
Don't be fooled- that Mickey bar is just a filter! It was just too cold to eat ice cream (sad face).
Oh, hello there little Grogu!
Ode to popcorn, the official snack of the trip.
A little chess in the Millennium Falcon before we joined our mission on Smugglers Run.
This time the boys were the pilots, the girls were the gunners, and Daddy and I were the engineers.
but I couldn't get a picture of jumping to lightspeed because I needed to keep my eyes closed for that part! Thanks Google!
I'm not sure which Star Wars ride this is... we went on all of them!
Hey! There's Rey and Chewy! They were having a very serious conversation while surveying the area.
And we came upon a parade with Donald Duck!
And Minnie!
And Chip and Dale!
We all enjoyed the explosions of the Indiana Jones stunt show
and then we quickly raced over to Toy Story Land to wrap up our day in the park. We got to the Alien Swirly Saucers about 20 seconds before our fastpass time was up! We all loved this new ride, Noah most of all.
And we took one more zip around Andy's backyard on the Slinky Dog Dash!
Noah and I both enjoyed this ride a whole lot more the second time around- in the daylight, and with a better idea of what to expect around each corner!
Everyone made fun of me for our lunch choice for the day, but I had a feeling grillled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup would hit the spot, and I was right!
And what's more, the sun finally came back out!! It had been a solid 48 hours since we saw the sun, and it felt so good on our faces again!

Yee-haw! You're my favorite deputy!It's a little green man!
There's a snake in my boot!
And then it was time to head back to our resort one more time, enjoying the sights of blooming flowers,
These final pictures crack me up. We had a photographer in training who must have missed the button that adds the magic to the pictures, so although Olaf is missing from this picture, it's still an accurate representation of how we spent the day- COLD!
I love these smiles!
What do you think was supposed to be in Noah's hands?
Exhausted and happy!
Out of the park again.
Sad it's over,
