An Alexander Kind Of Day

When your son starts crying the minute he wakes up and doesn't stop for 45 minutes...

When you have to take a shower in someone else's house because your water heater is broken (yes, just on the heels of the furnace, computer, and car)...

When two different people call on the phone to indicate that they are unhappy with something that I have nothing to do with, but apparently think I am a good sounding board...

When the day already feels like it's dragged on forever, and then you realize it's only 9:30...

These are the days when a gratitude list is supposed to help.  So here it is-

* I am going to a Relief Society dinner tonight.  They are always so uplifting and fun.
* Everyone got a nap today, most are still sleeping.
* Leah can always sense my stress, and tries to help out.  She stroked Adam's cheek and sang to him while I made lunch.

* We're renting this house.  Home repairs are a pain, yes, but they're not our responsibility.  And I'm thankful for good landlords that get the job done quickly.
* My birthday is just around the corner and that means Milky Way cake- yum!
* I have lifted the library ban.  It's good to have new books around again.

I feel like March has already stretched into the longest month of my life... and it's only the third!  Here's hoping that the winter blues start melting away with the snow.
