Because Adam is turning 12 this year, he has the opportunity to attend the temple! Or at least, we hoped he would. When 2021 arrived all temples were shut down. We set the hopeful goal of getting to attend the temple by the time he actually turns 12 in July, with any opportunities to attend sooner considered a bonus.
And our temple has opened up again! We were able to get a time slot to go as a family in May, just two weeks before Adam will go with some of the other youth in our ward.
We have another reservation to attend again as a family in June and again in July. It looks like our family goal of attending the temple every month is back on track, in whatever capacity we can get it, it's wonderful to be back in the temple again.
We are only able to visit the Winter Quarters Temple for now, so no plans for trips to any of the other temples near or far just yet, but that won't deter us from making regular temple attendance part of our family culture. As soon as we can, Adam would like to attend the Nauvoo temple. That should be easy enough soon enough!
We love the temple! It is beautiful, filled with peace and we are always blessed when we make time to attend.
This was Adam's special first visit, but he got the company of our whole family.
It was so sweet to see him in the temple, taking in the beauty of the building and the symbolism of the flowers and vines and the beautiful artwork. He was well prepared and is excited to go back again soon. We all are!
