We almost made the deadline again this year! Not really, but early or late, the tradition runs strong. The days seem to all blend together but these pictures make me stop in my tracks and realize just how quickly time is flying by.
Laney was not interested in being in the pictures this year, she was much more interested in looking out the window and trying to figure out where all of that lovely green grass disappeared to.
And unlike the years when these four were a pile of squirmy babies who wanted to look anywhere except the camera, these days they know just what they want to do for the pictures and the whole shoot takes about 4 minutes.
"We have to stand up straight so we can see how tall we all are!" Leah is 5'6", Adam is just shy of 6', Emma is about 5'2", and Noah is coming up on her quickly at right around 5'! (She's standing a few inches in front of him in this picture so it looks like more of a height difference.) The jury is still out as to whether Emma or I will be the shorty of the family, but there is no question that the shortest gals are the spunkiest in the bunch (including Leah, who has resigned herself to being Adam's 'little' sister now)!
Ahh these four besties. They hug each other and say kind things to each other and prefer to be together above anyone else. Last Saturday they pulled up old videos and laughed and laughed at their own baby cuteness.
Of note this year- Leah and Emma are both wearing their favorite church dresses (Emma's is Leah's 10th grade homecoming dress!), Noah and Adam are both wearing Chick-fil-a socks. I'm hugging Leah a little tighter these days as I'm so very aware that she only has two more of these pictures left in her youth, Leah and Adam have dazzling post-braces smiles, Adam's pants are super short, Emma is just a week away from getting started on her orthodontia plan, Adam and Noah both want their hair a little longer these days, we all love the sweet 'little kid' look and smell of pre-pubescent Noah. He is our baby! These are my babies!
Last year's picture. Time stand still!
