We have loved having an annual pass to the Omaha Zoo this year! There are so many indoor exhibits that it doesn't matter if the weather is hot or cold- it's all fun! We enjoyed a day there over Thanksgiving Break, and the best part of all was our first venture down to the Kingdom of the Night. We saw scuttling armadillos and alligators and crocodiles and naked mole rats. It was a really cool exhibit, and we were all glad that Adam convinced us to finally check it out. Of course, it was too dark to take any pictures, but it was the highlight of the visit!
The aquarium was a very close second.
I think we spent 35 minutes in the shark tunnel. They're mesmerizing!
Best picture of the day-
My two map-loving boys.
And the rain forest is another favorite. We love to hate the bats flying all around!
The IMAX movie theater is my favorite part of the zoo (after the cuttlefish, that is). This time around we promised the kids we'd get popcorn- such a treat!- and we settled in to rest our feet and learn about the National Parks- it was sweet to see so much of home!
And after that it was time to head back home. It was another great day at the zoo!
