When we decided to finish the basement this year, we set the goal of being able to watch October general conference in the basement. And we did!
And it was pretty awesome. We had two great days of snuggling up, 
listening,
and writing,
and coloring,
and of course, puzzling,
while we enjoyed conference in the new area of our house. And it was a historic one! 12 new temples announced (one more reason to take the whole family to Puerto Rico!), a call to keep the name of Jesus Christ at the center of the name of our church (after all, it is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), the shortening of Sunday church meetings from three hours to two, with an emphasis on the importance of gospel learning in the home, and a challenge to read The Book of Mormon before the end of the year, which Leah and I started right away!
As always, it was over much too soon, but I know that the spirit of general conference will stay in our home for a long time!
