Day 8- Roanoke and Tolbert Time!

Jason and I let the kids sleep while we headed back to the beach for the gorgeous sunrise. 

I don't exactly want to live on the coast, but these views sure are intoxicating. 

Noah's Tigey came on the trip with us, and thoroughly enjoyed his accommodations!

Another delicious breakfast, and then upstairs to the library/game room to apply various sunburn remedies. 

And chess. 

Then back to the beach to soak in the sights one last time before turning west. 

And a new hat for George!

We had to stop in Roanoke to check out the site of the lost colony. It was a cute beach town, 

with Spanish moss hanging from all the trees, 

and a great mystery to speculate on for an hour or so. We got out alive!

And we made our way over to North Carolina to finally visit our sweet friends the Tolberts!

It wasn't quite the same without Sarah!

But it was so good to see the rest of them!

We are so grateful for life-long friends!
