Today was a glorious Do Nothing Day.
After months (years!) of holidays and vacations and spring break and school and life, today we had nothing on the calendar and we kept it that way.
We did nothing!
Which, of course means devouring picture books and chapter books, and building and coding new LEGO creations, working on school projects and pumping up bike tires (it seems like spring might actually be just about here!!).
It meant taking care of little nagging tasks around the house and sitting down at the computer to help Adam figure out some of the final 39 Clues, staying in pajamas and loving the quiet and the chaos that ebbed and flowed throughout the day.
It meant naps for some and Sunday-prep showers for all, a lazy YOYO dinner that served as the backdrop for a family game night, and lots of snuggling up to read yet more chapter books (Emma and I just cracked open Little House in the Big Woods and I have a feeling she's going to love learning all about a sometimes naughty little girl named Laura).
Today is the last day of spring break, the last day of total freedom before school and church and Little League and orchestra and life start back up again tomorrow.
And while we love our life, sometimes the best thing about it is just taking a break from it all.
