Mexico! Day Two

Every morning in Mexico started with a walk down this path-

to breakfast alfresco.  The first morning there was a very intense groundskeeper walking around with a very intense hawk perched on his arm.  The two of them worked stealthily to clear the area of annoying pigeons and black birds.  It was fascinating to watch such an effective way of shooing birds away.

This day ended up being our resort day.  

We spent the whole day walking up and down the beach, enjoying the scenery, swimming in the huge pool, 

 eating as much as we wanted and always enjoying a view while we did, 

drinking lots of fruity drinks, and hitting some balls.  

This was a family resort so we spent some time checking out the amenities for kids.  I think they would have liked it there!

There were huge iguanas everywhere, just lumbering around like they own the place!

And on the beach there were sea urchins and crabs and oysters hanging out all over this rocky ledge that was only exposed for part of each day.  

The rest of the time it was covered by waves.

We passed a guy that was holding some sea urchins, and I asked if I could touch, and then hold them  (a difference between me and Jason- he wouldn't dare bother someone by asking them such a question).

It was surprisingly heavy and wiggly!  And apparently poisonous, so it's a good thing it didn't sting me!  Anything for a picture for my babies.

Every inch of the resort was picturesque.

So we took lots of pictures, including our traditional one.

 And every sunset was gorgeous.

 Just seeing the sun again and feeling it's warmth was so fantastic. 

 After dark we wandered over to the marina, where we saw all kinds of people and performers and even stumbled across a fashion show, which we watched while sharing a crepe.

Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful place with so many things going on day and night, and I especially enjoyed having my own tour guide to show me around the city!
