We all loved the outdoor space at the house, and gathered there every morning as we woke up.
Some of us to work, some of us to relax.
After a great breakfast, we walked a few blocks over to catch a ride to our first excursion at El Yunque Rainforest- the only rain forest national park in the United States!
We spotted a little lizard tanning in the sun on the way.
It wasn't too long before we left the beach behind and were headed toward the mountains! Just a chick or two pecking on some coconuts!
Jason and I went to Puerto Rico back in 2015 and had such a fun time- we have wanted to recreate the trip with the kids ever since. But over the years, we have learned that attempts at an exact replica of any experience is usually a fruitless endeavor because of the warm and fuzzy filter that covers memories with the passage of time. So it really wasn't such a bad thing that we couldn't exactly recreate our trip from last time, and it turns out this trip was 1000 times better because it was perfect for our family just as we are now!
Translation- lots of hiking, rock climbing, cliff jumping, rock water slides, and rope swings!
These kids are so brave, and I was too! (Jason's always brave). We slid and jumped and hiked and climbed and had so much fun. It even rained a little bit while we were in the rainforest!
I'm going to post all of the videos in a seperate post.
Best sisters!
Best brothers!
There is no amout of screentime that can replicate the dopamine hit that comes from an adventure like this!
