Getting there is always an adventure, sometimes a more painful one than others. This time around was PAINFUL. Our beautiful original plan had us joining up with Leah in Chicago before hopping on a plae altogether to Puerto Rico, but our flight out of DSM was delayed to the point that we would not make our layover.
A few frantic hours and phone calls and hundreds of dollars later, we all made it to Chicago, where we spent the night and hopped on a plane early the next morning, effectively shaving off the first 12 hours of our trip but leaving us grateful that we didn't have a cruise to catch or anything more stressful like that.
And we were all together again!
We missed Leah every day while she was at BYU.
We were so grateful to have carry-on bags so that we could spend the night in Chicago with our personal items. Adam's googly eyes to the rescue for how to easily identify them.
The sunrise in Chicago was lovely!
As was the yo-yo entertainment
and the only-when-we're-traveling McDonald's for breakfast.
A few quick hours and Biscoff cookies
and hand-holds later...
and we spotted our beautiful destination!
No idea what's happening here, but airport entertainment is always a great laugh.
And viola! Blue skies, palm trees and heat! We made it to Puerto Rico!
